mother takes on home invaders

Just after 9 p.m. on Friday the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office received a call for a shooting in the 18700 block of Mink Lank in the Mink Branch Valley subdivision just outside Magnolia. In a heavily wooded subdivision with homes nestled in the woods.

When the first units arrived they learned a mother and a 6-year-old child were home alone when three Hispanic males broke into the home. As they were starting to make their rounds in the house they were startled when, not knowing anyone was home were faced with the young mother holding a pistol. She did fire and thought she did hit one of the burglars but they all escaped. There was no vehicle seen and it appeared they left on foot.

Not long after a male arrived at Tomball Hospital who had been shot.

According to Detective Hahs with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office they have yet to determine if the male in the hospital is one of the three involved in the home invasion. Detectives spent most of the night on the scene searching the woods and photographing the scene.

Mother and child were uninjured.

If anyone has information on who the suspects are please contact the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office or Crime Stoppers.

  1. Perfect example of why people should be allowed to keep guns. She was able to protect her property and family. If she hadn’t had one, there would probably be 3 dead bodies in that house.

  2. VERY interested to hear this story develop.
Will the victim speak to you in interview?
Is burglar the one at the hospital with gunshot wound?
    Are other 2 burglars caught?

  3. Good for that mom!!!!!!!!!!!!

  4. Good for her!

  5. I’m happy one got shot. I’d be 3x happier if they all ate a bullet for B & E.

  6. Did one of the ones that got away get drunk and run from a Trooper in Conroe later??

  7. Excellent response. All homeowner should have a firearm AND training/experience on how to safely store and use it. I would have preferred that this woman would have had a .12 gauge shotgun so that the stopping power and her safety would be enhanced. Let’s all stay ready for invasions of our homes and businesses as our society “changes”.

  8. These (edited) should feel very lucky that they invaded a home that did not have a legal assault rifle-armed homeowner with a 20 rd. clip. Thanks again MCPR for reporting this incident and getting images of the scene. Keep up the great work.

  9. Great job MOM!….another fantastic story that will never make the liberal media because it’s does’nt fit their anti-gun agenda.

  10. Way to go momma!!
