MCPR UPGRADING AND GIVING SITE A FACELIFT

For the past several weeks we have been working on the web site in an attempt to speed it up and correct the times it has gone offline recently. In the past few days we have had many comments that some readers like it this way. Others say they do not. In addition we have some readers that are now telling us that they are unable to see videos or photos on their phone. If this is the case please email us and tell us what type of phone you have and what story that you are referring to that you cannot see the videos or the photos. For many years we have used Blip Server for the video’s With the change in the site we have switched to You Tube since they are the main source for up and coming information now. Over the next several months as we continue to post stories we are also going to start converting the older videos back to the You Tube Server. This is going to be an extensive job as besides the almost 400 videos that reside there we have an additional almost 4000 from 2001 to current which we will be uploading. This mainly as we get many requests during the week for videos from many years ago.

In addition we hope to start posting more traffic alerts. If you see a “TRAFFIC ALERT” that means we are only relaying information from out many sources of a potential traffic delay. It does not mean we are going to the scene. When we post an alert we have no knowledge of vehicle types involved and request if anyone want to add to the information such as a passenger car or pickup or 18-wheeler. Also please do not speculate, many se a crash and make comments such as “it is bad it must be a fatality”. Do not post this unless this information has been verified. With vehicle built the way they are today they are able to take a lot more punishment and not compromise the passenger compartment to the point of serious injury. An example is the crash tonight, many passed and thought it to be a fatality and yet the man crawled out on his own with some lacerations on his head.
