GRANGERLAND 2 ALARM HOUSE FIRE

Just after 1:30am New Caney Fire Department along with Caney Creek Fire Department were dispatched to a house fire in the 17900 block of William Lane at Shaw Circle in the Country West Subdivision.

Caney Creeks engine arrived on the scene within minutes and reported heavy fire conditions in one story wood frame home. As other units arrived a water supply was set up as crews fought not just the house fire but the grass and brush that had ignited.

Just before 2 a.m. a second alarm was pulled bring Splendora, Porter, Needham and Central Montgomery County Fire Departments.

The sleeping area of the home suffered heavy fire damage with the living area receiving heavy smoke and water damage.

No cause has been determined as the home owner was home at the time of the fire.

The Montgomery County Fire Marshal’s Office will investigate.
