CONROE THEFT SUSPECTS CAPTURED AFTER LONG PURSUIT
One of several suspects was captured a short time ago in the 900 block of Lucky in the Acres Homes area of north Houston after a lengthy chase.
It all started when the suspect and possibly others were seen stealing items from the Best Buy at West Davis and Interstate 45 in Conroe just before 8 p.m. Conroe Police attempted to stop the vehicle as it was leaving the store but the driver sped onto Interstate 45 southbound. That’s when speeds picked up to over 100 mph as they traveled south toward Houston. Harris County, DPS and Houston Police assisted in the pursuit which went to Gulf Bank Road in Houston on the freeway. That is where he exited and started driving through neighborhoods. The driver then stopped and jumped out of the vehicle in an attempt to flee on foot he was captured going over a fence in the 900 block of Lucky just 2 miles from where the vehicle was registered ending the 32 mile chase.
Conroe Police were not able to nab the others who fled in separate vehicles from the Best Buy. Officers feel they were making their trip up Interstate 45 targeting Best Buy stores and other stores as some of the stolen merchandise was not from Best Buy but appeared to be from a Walmart. The laptop and television stolen from the Conroe Best Buy was loaded into one of the other suspects cars that fled the area.
At this time the suspect is charged with felony evading arrest with a motor vehicle. Additional charges of organized retail theft may also be filed.

Heard that on the scanner last night. It was pretty interesting to listen to as it(the chase) was happening. I think the peak speed was 110mph.
